why Preview?

Yes, why Preview? Why not Vogue or Elle? Or Metro?

Well, I go for Preview for a lot of reasons, being nationalistic is one. Being fashion-conscious is another. Preview actually has been around for ten years now. It's the most fashion-forward Filipino magazine. The layout and art direction for it's covers and features are simply stunning! It's not just a fashion magazine; it's a manual (for it's features on what's in and out, what's hot and not), a guidebook (for it's articles that tackles everything from ukay-ukay to botox to travel and so on), an art collectible (for it's very tasteful and artictic fashion spreads) and an heirloom (hey, you can hand it down to your daughter, sister, mother, cousin, friend, etc... after you have devoured it's glossy pages!).
Preview is also the only Filipino magazine that I can put right next to Vogue and Elle. I wouldn't be ashamed to bring it with me on a plane bound for Paris (if ever I'd get the chance to, hehehe!). I choose Preview because as I've said, I'm nationalistic. It's the only magazine so far that features Filipino talent/s at it's finest. It just makes me blush with pride whenever I see a Preview fashion spread that features gowns by Jun Escario alongside a pair of stilettos by Prada with bags by Aranaz or Bea Valdes. Gosh, I can even go on and on here how Preview made me change my mind on Filipino fashion magazines.
But enough said here. Just go grab a copy of their latest issue and you'll know why I'm ranting like a deprived socialite here. Toodles!

for some reason i stopped buying Preview because our house is already bursting with mags and i wouldn't know how to keep new ones. and it contains stuff i can't afford and there is nothing more depressing than that (oo materialistic ako. hehe)!

But since you have done a fabfab job at selling it to your readers, i guess i'd have to make my first purchase of Preview again after a long time.

and yeah, WELCOME to the blogosphere. (naks, i welcome you like i own it. haha)

Hey, O! I updated your link na. =]

I had the last month's issue of Preview and everything was just sooo EXPENSIVE. The only thing I actually own that's on Preview are Burt's Bees lip balms, I think. LOL. I'd like to have a Lacoste Pique polo, though. =]

Tan-aw ka The OC, if you're not yet doing so! Feeling ko manami-an ka sang mga outfits nila Mischa and Rachel, etc. =]

Preview is nice, i gave up InStyle in favor of Preview, so it should be nice! And besides, I don't buy the stuff I see in Preview, magmukha kaya akong gaga! I'm gay and I'm fat. Even if I *love* to own any of Ivar Aseron's creations, I simply just cannot! So there! But the magazine's good. Nice lay-out, nice editorials, basta, nice-nice!

Go buy the May issue!

Preview is pretentious and everything that comes with it. ESPECIALLY the editor in chief who thinks she's the anna wintour of the philippines when she looks like a dried up prune with NO sense of fashion AT ALL.

I know it's pretentious. Who would want to read about 50 grand shoes when the rest of the country is starving? But i am a fashion-slave. It's the most updated , fashion-wise, magazine here in our shores. Although it can NEVER replace Vogue, this is as good as I can get.

And besides, it's a Filipino magazine. That alone is reason for me to read it.
